I heard the news of Alan Greenspan's demise with mixed feelings. What took Karma so long!
A devotee and friend (possibly with dubious benefits) of Ayn Rand, who herself qualified as a philosopher by writing Mein Kampf-style bodice rippers, once Greenspan was appointed Fed Chair he was revered as an infallible guru by bipartisan acclaim no matter how much harm he did to workers' pay and condition.
